Common Technical Issues: SUZUKI RM125BRAND: SUZUKIMODEL: RM125 YEARS: 87-88 CATEGORY: DIRT BIKE TECHNICAL ISSUE DETAILS The earliest Suzuki RM125 dirtbikes to use the 6-Pole stator were the '87 models. The stator on these consists of a plate with a pickup coil and a 6-pole stator on which all six poles are wound as a source coil providing power for the CDI. Ignition failure causes: 1) Bad stator source coil, which is a very common fault. Check the resistance of the stock stator. Replace with ESC458 (ignition only) or ESL458 (ignition & lighting output) 2) CDI unit failed. Not as common. Replace the CDI if the stator, ignition coil and all connections test out fine and the bike still has no spark.
