Common Technical Issues: YAMAHA YZ125 BRAND: YAMAHAMODEL: YZ125 YEARS: 87 CATEGORY: DIRT BIKE TECHNICAL ISSUE DETAILS These YZ125 models use a standard 6-Pole stator as a source coil to provide power for the ignition system. Ignition system failure is mostly caused by: 1) Stator failure. The source coil often times fails. 2) The CDI occasionally fails, but this is less common. When installing ESC450 or ESL450 ensure that connections between the wiring harness on the OEM stator unit and the new ESC/ESL450 core are good quality connections. Soldering these connections is preferable.
